Call for Artists: President APartments
The Mount Vernon Downtown Association (MVDA) is excited to announce a new opportunity for creatives of all backgrounds to make a lasting impact on our historic downtown. We’re seeking design proposals for vibrant vinyl art murals that will transform the street-level windows and doors of the President Apartments—one of the most iconic and visible buildings in downtown Mount Vernon. We're hoping for bold, original mural designs that will turn three vacant storefronts into vibrant public art.
Project Overview
What: Vinyl art murals on the windows/doors of three vacant retail spaces
Where: Street level of the President Apartments on S 1st Street
Deadline: October 10, 2025 at 11:59 PM PST
Stipend: $250 per selected design
Eligibility: Open to all—no formal experience required. Preference to Skagit County residents.
Design Themes
We’re seeking art that is vibrant, inclusive, and reflective of our community. Potential themes include:

The Skagit River & local wildlife
Native American & Latino culture
Agriculture, logging, tourism
Community connection & inclusion
